Lawrence Kagan is a UCLA honors graduate, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry. He received his medical training at USC Keck School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. In addition to passionately studying neonatal, general pediatric and adolescent medicine at CHLA, he had the opportunity to train under some of the greatest minds in subspecialty pediatrics, diagnosing and managing the rarest and most complicated childhood ailments. Prior to opening Westside Pediatrics, he worked as an attending physician at the CHLA Emergency Department as well as at Cedars Sinai Urgent Care. Dr. Kagan is a native of Los Angeles. He and his wife, Cathy, currently live in Pacific Palisades with their two children, Reese and Colin.
Dorothy Klein is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. She is originally from Virginia and received her undergraduate degree in Human Biology with an area of concentration in Children’s Health and Development from Stanford University. She graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. After residency, Dr. Klein continued on as an attending pediatric hospitalist at UCLA. Prior to Westside Pediatrics, she spent one year in the Outback of Australia among Aboriginal communities practicing rural and remote pediatric medicine with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. She lives in Pacific Palisades with her husband Patrick, and two boys, Kai and Ryan.

Emily Bruckner Krasnow was born and raised in Sherman Oaks, California. Growing up as the daughter, niece, and sister of pediatricians, taking care of children and families has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Duke University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience. She completed her medical training at UCLA School of Medicine, where she was selected to be a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where her parents, uncle, and brother had all trained before her. After residency, she worked at Tribeca Pediatrics in Venice, California. She happily joined the Westside Pediatrics family in 2015. She lives in Mar Vista with her husband, David, and her four beautiful sons, Hayden, Landon, and twins Warren and Cody (as well as her giant step-pet, Duchess the pot-bellied pig!).

CAITLIN COLVARD, MD, FAAP

Caitlin Colvard was born and raised in Pacific Palisades. She graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with research in infant and child development. Caitlin received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society which recognizes individuals who are exemplars of humanistic patient care and who will serve as role models and leaders in medicine. She completed her internship and residency training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles where she received multiple awards for excellence in clinical pediatrics, leadership, and future promise in the care of children. Caitlin is passionate about the role she plays in the lives of her patients. She believes every child is unique and makes it her mission to build strong personal relationships with her patients and their families. She currently lives in Pacific Palisades with her husband, Nima, and her daughters, Olivia, Scout and Noelle. In her free time she enjoys spending time at the beach with her family, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, and practicing pilates.
JESSICA ZAK, MD, FAAP

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Dr. Jessica Zak originally came to California for her internship and residency program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Zak’s sense of adventure, love of sunshine and commitment to helping the children in this community encouraged her to set roots in LA. A summa cum laude graduate from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. Zak completed her undergraduate education in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology before earning a Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics with a specialization in Complementary and Alternative Medicine from Georgetown University. She also worked in the Emergency Room at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, treating and caring for children with colds to critical illnesses when they are most in need. This specialized knowledge and training has allowed Dr. Zak to take a global view when treating each individual patient, combining traditional pediatric medicine with complementary therapies to achieve optimal health in all areas of life including nutrition, lifestyle and disease prevention. Dr. Zak lives by the beach and enjoys exercising and staying active, trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends.
